According to the “Analysis Report of China’s Lithium Battery Industry in 2021-Market In-depth Analysis and Profit Forecast” released by the Guanyan Report Network, the demand for lithium batteries for 3C products has increased steadily in recent years, and the market scale of new energy vehicles has gradually increased. As the demand for energy storage batteries expands, China’s lithium battery production scale is expanding year by year. According to data, China’s lithium battery output reached 15.722 billion in 2019, and China’s lithium battery output reached 18.845 billion in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 19.87%.
Benefiting from the growth of new energy vehicles and power battery shipments, China’s lithium battery shipments are increasing year by year. According to data, China’s lithium battery shipments reached 158.5GWh in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 20.4% compared to 2019.
With the rapid progress of China’s urbanization process, the demand for energy continues to increase. However, in the context of the gradual increase in energy conservation and emission reduction requirements, the rapid growth of new energy electric vehicle production has promoted the rapid growth of China’s lithium battery industry. According to data, the scale of China’s lithium battery industry in 2019 will reach 175 billion yuan, and in 2020, the scale of China’s lithium battery industry will reach 180.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.03%.
At present, the demand in the field of consumer lithium batteries has been relatively saturated. In the future, with the development of the global new energy industry, electric vehicles will gradually become a major source of demand for lithium batteries, so power lithium batteries have become an incremental field in the lithium battery industry. According to the information released by the Guanyan Report Network, China’s power lithium battery shipments will be the largest in 2020, accounting for 53.95% of the total shipments; followed by consumer lithium batteries, accounting for 43.16% of the total shipments; energy storage lithium batteries accounted for 2.89% of total shipments.
