Description
The unitprovides single phase protection which combines an overcurrent device(MCBltogetherwith a current operated circuit breaker (RCCB) as an integral unit. The unit has plug-in feature at"Live"(line side)l.Load outgoing terminals are of the stirup type which gives added grip on con-ductors.
Overcurrent protection
Operates on thermal and magnetic tripping principles in the line side. Overload and short circuitprotection meets requirements in lEC60898-1.
Earth leakage protection
Operates on detection of differential current between line and neutral currents.Electronic sensinginitiates amplification in circuitry to provide high sensitivity. Crucial tripping time is well below setstandard which helps safeguard human lifes.
operation of test button
The test button (marked T) should be depressed momentarily in the activated circuit to check theintegrity of the tripping mechanism and functions of the unit. The RCBo unit should be checkedevery quaterly using the test button. Ilf it fails to trip, seek help from the electricians.
Note:Operation of the test device checks only the correct functioning of the RCBO at a higher cur-rent than the rated tripping level. It does not check the integrity of the earthing system.
lnstallation
Plug in the RCBO unit with L (in) terminal onto the "Live" busbar of the consumer unit plug inboard;
Connect hte BLACK neutral [N lin)] to the neutral supply terminal block;
The load connections are made to the outgoning terminals of the RCB0 marked L (out) andN(out).N (out) must not be connected to the neutral supply terminal boock. The load cablesmust be of the correct size corresponding to the RCBO current ratings;
Upon activation of power after installation, depress"T" button to test unit.
Caution:High voltage insulation testers must not be used with the RCBO in circuit.
